There are some great options for privacy.

  1. Clusia. It is a truly a amazing privacy hedge. It is a slow to medium grower and is one the most hardy out of all the privacy hedges once grown in. Clusia keeps a tight shape and also one of the best-looking privacy hedges.
  2. Podocarpus. Podocarpus starts thin once planted but grows into a very tight manicured hedge. A dark green color and can be used in tighter spaces than a Clusia hedge. Another great option.
  3. Areca Palms. They are used as a privacy hedge all over South Florida and been around for a long time. Very thick but can be very messy with palm fronds dropping all the time. There are many more to choose from. These are just a couple of choices.

After installation plants should be watered daily for at least the next two weeks at a minimum. The amount depends on species and size of plant or tree. Call or email us if you have any questions.

One way to check to see the health of your tree is by taking a key or pair of pruners and to scrape a very small piece of the bark off on the limb of the tree. ( Please be careful ) Make sure you test multiple limbs of the tree. Now if your tree is alive and healthy you will notice a dark or light green layer underneath the bark. The darker the color the healthier it is and the lighter the color green means your tree’s health is failing. If your tree is on the verge of dying or failing health it will be a very light green. If your tree is dead there will be no green layer and the limb will snap in half very easily. At this point, you need to see why the tree is not doing well and fix asap or just call us.
